Magicosmetix Haul & Review!

Hello Everyone!

Today I'm going to be doing a post all about Magicosmetix, which is a brand founded in 2015 and creates makeup products and accessories. You can view and buy everything mentioned in this post on their website here.

The first product I tried is the HD Magic Palette. This palette has twenty-four eyeshadows, twenty of which are 'baked' and 'foiled' and the other four are matte. The palette also has six face powders; three contour colours and three blushers. On first glance, this palette is very bright and colourful, which for me was quite daunting as I only really wear neutrals. When you take a further look into the palette in detail, you notice the colours are not as harsh as they seem. In terms of pigmentation, some of the eyeshadow colours offer amazing pigmentation, but some do need a little bit of work in oder to get a good pay-off, I find a good primer helps to get them to really work. Overall, the eyeshadows work well on the eye, and I've enjoyed being creative with the palette. The palette is £39.99 to buy.

Overview of the palette
Eyeshadow Row One: Shades (Top-bottom) - Silver Fairy Dust, No Nonsense Nude, Poised, Statement, Glamazon, Violetta, Regal, Electrik.
As you can see from the swatches, some of the shades are reasonably pigmented, for example Regal, Silver Fairy Dust and Statement are all quite pigmented. The shade that really impresses me with this row is Electrik, the bright matte orange. I find matte shades in palettes tend to not be very pigmented, but as the swatch shows this colour in particular gives great pay off.

Eyeshadow Row Two: Shades ( Left-Right) - Haute, Rustic, Plush, Mermaid, Queen, Dolly Pink, Copper Cat and Pewter Fairy Dust.
This row is definitely more pigmented than the last, and especially with the metallic shades such as Rustic, Copper Cat and Pewter Fairy Dust.

Eyeshadow Row Three: Shades (Left-Right) - Dark Night, Magician, Dolly Dust, Jewel, Frozen, Royal Rush, Mystic and Black Fairy Dust.
I think this row is probably the best row for pigmentation. The shades Royal Rush, Mystic and Black Fairy Dust especially stand out to me, and again the shade Dark Night which is a matte black is actually quite pigmented considering.

Face Powders; Shades (Left-Right) - Dark Contour, Medium Contour, Bake Me Babe,Fuchsia Funk, Rose Rush, Peachy Vibes.
Personally, I think in comparison to the eyeshadows the face powders aren't as powerful in terms of pigmentation. The medium contour is a little too light for me, and I have really pale skin so I dont know if this would suit anyone as a contour, but maybe as an overall face powder it would work well. The bake shade works well but you do have to go careful or you can end up with extremely white under-eyes. The blushers are all quite pretty, the shades Peachy Vibes and Fuchsia Funk are matte, yet reasonably pigmented and the shade Rose Rush is a light pink with a silver shimmer running through it. The dark contour is a lovely shade, and a very nice texture.

Overall, I do really like the palette especially for the eyeshadows. It's a great go-to when you want something creative and daring. Some of the shades are amazing quality and the others are all good. For me, the face powders I don't really go for on a regular basis, but I can definitely see the use and idea behind them. You can find the palette here.

The next product is the Magic Pout Light-Up Magic Lip Cream. This is a matte liquid lipstick, which has a mirror on the side, and lights in the lid so you can apply the product in dim lights. The shade I got is called Bedazzled, which is a really bold and bright pink. There are two other colours in the range, and they are all £18.99 each. I found this is a really great matte liquid lip, it dries fast and has a great amount of colour. It can be drying so I would recommend using a lip balm/primer beforehand but this is a common problem with a lot of liquid lipsticks. The lipstick colour I really like, and it is a lovely shade of pink, and perfect for spring. You can find this here.

The next product is the Concealer Neutraliser in the shade Magic Orange. This is a base for concealer, and helps to cover up extreme pigmentation and darkness. I like that this isn't too dark and so doesn't look to harsh under the concealer. The texture is very creamy, and a has a semi-matte finish. I found this was very effective and really helped to improve the area, especially with the use of a good concealer. I really enjoy using this, and have used it every day for around four months. The cost of this is £14.99, which may seem a lot but a little goes a long way with this and it does really work. This is also suitable for all skin tones. You can find this here.

The next product is the Magic Highlight Duo in Pink Shimmer. This is a duo product, and has a blusher and highlighter in one. The product is split into two sides, with the highlight being the lighter shade and the blusher being the darker one. You can use the two products either on their own, or swirl your brush over both to create an ultra glowy blush. The pigmentation of this is absolutely amazing, and applies so well! I love using these alone and together, and think this is a great product as you get two in one. The Highlight Duo actually comes in two more options, so if these colours aren't for you then you'll most likely find one that is. Most of all I am really impressed with the payoff these give and the picture below really doesn't do them justice! This is £19.99 which I think is well worth it as you get two really beautiful products, and the size of the product is actually really good too. I think this is probably one of my favourite things I tried from Magic Cosmetix.

Shades (Top to Bottom) - Blusher alone, Highlight alone, Combination of both.
The next product is the Double-Sided Cream Contour stick. This is available in one shade, which I think would suit a wide range of people, although if you have darker toned skin, the contour shade may not work as well. The contour side of the stick is shaped as you would think a lipstick to be, and I like this design as you can 'draw' it on, which makes it really fuss free. The texture of the contour side is very creamy, it's not waxy which I like and the colour pay-off is great. It blends really well, and really does give a great defined look. The highlight is a matte liquid, which has a doe foot applicator and again is easy to apply, and blends well. The highlight is matte, so can be used anywhere on the face and there is no worry of a sparkly under-eye for example (we've all been there). I really do like this, and use it especially when I want a full glam look. This is £21.99 and you can find it here.

So that is everything I tried in terms of products, although I did try some of the makeup tools that Magic Cosmetix offer.

The first set of tools is the Essentials Double-Sided Brush set. This comes with five brushes, and they are all double sided so in theory you actually get 10 brushes. There are two eye brushes, with a blending side, a general eyeshadow brush, an angled brush ideal for eyeliner/brows and a really great definer brush. The eye brushes have a shiny black handle with pink bristles, making them very fun to display. There is three face brushes in the set, featuring a foundation brush, powder brush, concealer brush, angled brush, stippling brush and a blending sponge. Again these brushes have pink bristles, and are really great quality. I use these every day, they're really good and I have had them for about six months now, and they haven't shed bristles or shown any other signs of poor quality. The brush set also comes with a bag to keep the brushes in, which is ideal for travel. This set is £59.99 and you can find it here. Sorry for the dirty brushes by the way!

The other tools I tried are sold alone, so you will have to purchase seperately if you wish to buy them.

The first product is the HD Magic Wand. This is a large angled makeup sponge on a stick, which is something I've never seen before, and was really intrigued by. The sponge is angled, and has a flat side which is great for applying powder, or you could use the rounded side for cream/liquid products. To use this I dampen the sponge, which helps to make it work more efficiently. It does work, but sometimes it can be tricky to work with. I do like it though, and use it especially with powder, as I find it works best with that. The HD Magic Wand is £19.99 to buy, and you can find it here.

Another product similar to the HD Magic Wand is the Mini Magic Stick which is almost a baby version of the wand, but the spomge on this one is pointed and not angled. I find due to the size of this, it works well around the eye and nose area, and reaches those awkward places. You can use it again with liquid, powder or cream products and I find it works well with all three. I think this would be great as a handbag staple, to keep for on the go due to the size and ease it brings! This is £9.99 and you can find it here.

The final product is the Magic Tips. which is something completely new to me and I have never seen a product like this before. The Magic Tips are designed to go on the end of your finger, and are made from silicone so have a skin-like feel. They are a more hygienic option for make-up artists, or people who prfer to use their fingers rather than brushes. The tips are re-usable and can be washed, and don't take long to dry so are a very handy and easy option to go for. I think the Magic Tips are a great idea and I love how innovative they are! These are £9.99 and you can find them here.

That's everything! I have really enjoyed trying out these products from Magic Cosmetix, and I use them on a day-today basis. They are a great brand for innovative and great quality products and I would definitely recommend checking them out!
