Hello everyone,
Today's post is going to be a review of some chocolate I recently tried from a brand called Rawr chocolate. The Rawr chocolate bars have organic, fairtrade and vegan ingredients and are a great alternative to regular bars. You can have a look at the bars in more depth here.
There are 6 different varieties of the chocolate bar, which is £2.45 for 60g. I tried five of the flavours, and this is what I thought!
My favourite bar was orange flavour. The ingredients for this are Cacao Paste, Cacao Butter, Coconut Palm Sugar, Lucuma, Carob, Orange Oil and Vanilla. This bar is suitable for vegans, and is organic, dairy free, gluten free and wheat free. The cocoa solids in this are 68% minimum. I really liked this, as despite being dairy free it doesn't taste too strong and has a lovely hint of orange. The texture is really great and isn't too hard. Overall, I really liked this bar. I would definitely get it again. You can check it out here.
My second favourite was the mint flavour. The ingredients for this are Cacao Paste, Cacao Butter, Coconut Palm Sugar, Lucuma, Carob, Mint Oil and Vanilla. Again this bar is suitable for vegans, is organic and dairy, gluten and wheat free. The cocoa solids in this bar are 68% minimum. Again, this is a really great bar, the mint flavour isn't too strong, the texture is very nice and the cocoa isn't too intense. You can check this bar out here.
The next bar I tried was the lucuma cacao bar. The ingredients for this are Cacao Butter, Coconut Palm Sugar, Lucuma and Vanilla. This bar is organic, dairy free, gluten free, wheat free and suitbale for vegans. The cocoa solids in this are 51% minimum. This has quite an unusual texture, but is really delicious. It has a lovely caramel flavour, and is really nice. You can check this bar out here.
The fourth bar I tried was the goji berry and vanilla flavour. The ingredients for this are Cacao Paste, Cacao Butter, Coconut Palm Sugar, Goji Berries, Lucuma, Carob and Vanilla. As with all the bars, this is suitable for vegans, organic, dairy free, gluten free and wheat free. The cocoa solids in this bar are 51% minimum. Because this bar contains goji berries, it has a different texture to all the others. and has quite a strong cocoa flavour. The goji berries bring a slight sourness, which really compliments the richness of the cocoa. You can check this bar out here.
The final bar I tried was the most simple, just the organic chocolate with no added flavour. The ingredients for this are Cacao Paste, Cacao Butter, Coconut Palm Sugar, Lucuma, Carob and Vanilla. This bar contains 68% minimum cocoa solids. This is really great to have if you like a simple taste, it tastes inbetween milk chocolate and dark chocolate, but is dairy free. It's a great thing to have and is very classic. You can check this bar out here.
All of the packaging for the Rawr products is 100% recyclable, so is very eco-friendly. Overall, I really enjoyed trying the chocolate and would definitely recommend it to someone looking for a more morally correct alternative to regular chocolate, or if you are vegan or lactose intollerant. I would definitely recommend.
