Hello everyone,
Today's post is going to be on a product called a Konjac sponge. You may be thinking, what is Konjac? Until not very long ago I also didn't know! Here is a description to give you an idea of what it is I'm talking about in the post!
So, Konjac is actually a plant, and it is native to Asia. At the moment it is being widely used, for beauty and food purposes. The plant is actually 97% water, and is rich in minerals. It is also alkaline, and pH neutral which is why it works so well as a skincare product.
The company I will be talking about today is called The Konjac Sponge Co. you can view/purchase their products through their website, and they have a wide selection of different sponges for different skin types. The sponge I will be talking about today is the Facial Puff with Green French Clay. You can have a look at it for yourself here.
First of all, a few things about the company itself. They use pure Konjac, which is free from chemicals, colouring, additives and irritants. This makes the products great for sensitive skin. All of the sponges are 100% biodegradable and are also fully sustainable. All of the products are also cruelty free and are also suitable for vegans. All of the sponges are made by hand.
The sponge I used in particular is made for people with oily/combination skin types, and the properties are that it tightens pores, revitalises damaged skin cells and also helps to even skin tone. The clay in the sponge is also supposed to help draw out excess oil and impurities.
When you first use the sponge, it can look a bit strange as it is very small and hard. This is perfectly normal though, and will happen every time the sponge is dried. To use the sponge, you simply have to just run it under the tap and eventually it will expand and soften. I personally just use the sponge on it's own without any other cleansers etc. as I love the effects it gives. You can really feel the clay working and it makes my skin feel very clean and soft. I really love the sponge and have used it pretty much everyday for the past few months. Once you have finished using the sponge, gently squeeze any excess water out and hang it to dry. When you next use it, simply do the same steps.
So far I have really noticed an improvement with the feel of my skin, and my skin is a lot more balanced. There are many other sponges in the range, including sponges for sensitive skin, for babies, body and also for men, so the sponges can be used by anyone and everyone!
The sponge I used is £8.99 and can be bought here. I think it's a really good purchase and it has lasted me around three months!
I would definitely recommend you purchase one for yourselves.
Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed this post.
